“Open this gift first.” Start your celebration Christmas Eve at 5:30 pm in our beautiful sanctuary surrounded by the sounds and love of the night and happening we joyously celebrate. With family, new and old friends, or just in a quiet time of peace, step into sanctuary and out of the cold and non-melodious sounds of our world to hear our choir and brass ensemble, a word of Hope for everyone, taste the bread, drink the drink, and light a single candle that together can light our little part of the night. Welcome!

We invite you to come just as you are and check us out.  It can be a little daunting to walk into a new church for the first time.  At Bethany we  are trying hard to make your first or hundredth time with us meaningful  and easy.  This is how we are striging to build authentic relationships with our neighbors just like you.

What to Expect

Like many churches in Houston who have been around for over 100 years, you are going to see a lot of graying heads with sweet smiles underneath.  Know that visitors, especially those under 35, will cause everyone to want to stop by and say “hi”.   Every member will want you to feel right at home the first time you visit.  You may have a little trouble figuring out who is your assigned “Welcome Host” because everyone will show that kind of hospitality to you and those with you.

One of the first things you will notice when you enter our beautiful sanctuary is the large stained glass image of Jesus at the Sermon on the Mount. Surrounding the art in glass, are  huge pipes for our pipe organ.  Down from their is our choir loft and organ which set the tone and reverence  to take us into our time of worship.

At 10:50 AM Bethany comes alive with voices and music honor our God and believer artists who were inspired to create sacred music of our long-lived tradition.

Our pastors where the black robes of teaching.  And you will notice the table for the Lord’s Supper or Communion is in the very center of our experience. Our’s like everything at Bethany is an Open Table meaning that if you are a Believer in Jesus as Savior you are welcomed to share in the bread and juice no matter your church affiliation.

Come As You Are

At  Bethany there is no dress code. Some people show up in suits, and others wear jeans and t-shirts. We want you to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable!

Bring the Little Ones

We have safe, secure childcare for babies and early ages in our Bethany Christian School wing just off the gym. Your Welcome Host will be happy to take you and your child to meet our wonderful workers and see where your child will be cared for on your special day.
